Courage and Focus
Luke 9:51-56 (ESV)
“When the days drew near for him to be taken up, he set his face to go to Jerusalem. And he sent messengers ahead of him, who went and entered a village of the Samaritans, to make preparations for him. But the people did not receive him, because his face was set toward Jerusalem. And when his disciples James and John saw it, they said, ‘Lord, do you want us to tell fire to come down from heaven and consume them?’ But he turned and rebuked them. And they went on to another village.”

Jesus is determined to fulfill His mission, showing His courage and focus.
Historical Analogy
Martin Luther King Jr. during the Civil Rights Movement. Despite knowing the dangers and opposition, he marched on Selma, Alabama, fully aware of the risks but focused on the goal of equality and justice.
Application
- Courage and Focus: Just like Jesus, we should be brave and stay focused on what God calls us to do, even when it’s hard.
- Responding to Rejection: Instead of getting angry when people reject or oppose us, we should respond with love and patience, like Jesus did.
